We have a new member of the family - Lucca! He's a 9 pound maltese puppy. His previous owner said he's about 8 months old, but I think he might be a bit older than that. He's a bundle of energy and has been running around the apartment non-stop for the past 1.5 hours. One minor issue - he still has his nerts! A trip to the spay and neuter clinic is in his immediate future. Pictures will be posted soon - keep an eye out!

Lunch Review:Elevation Burger

Before hitting Bed Bath and Beyond reason we decided to try Elevation Burger. Ellen had grilled cheese which is served on a burger roll.

I had a cheeseburger. Their ingredients are what sets them apart...
100% usda certifed organic grass fed free range beef and fresh cut fries cooked in heart healthy olive oil.

Food was good...my burger was roughly the size of a mcdonalds burger at triple the price

But the cheddar cheese was Yummy.
And coke zero in the fountain!!!

Our biggest complaint...the clientele of screaming children and their parents desperate to appease them with chocolate shakes. When your child is melting down...take them outside for a time out. Don't subject innocent bystanders to your attempts to calm them...it sucks fo us.

The Yarn Yarn part 2

It is done.

I have listed 80 items for sale on ebay.

I'm exhausted and hopeful for a decent return.

Please, support your favorite yarn slut in recovery...bid early and often.

The Yarn Yarn

So someone who shall remain nameless (ahem Teener) has a yarn problem. She buys waaaaaay too much yarn and stores it upstairs. Her stash is immense to the point of insanity. Occasionally it becomes time to clear out the stash and sell a bunch of yarn, partly to fund future purchases, partly to fund life.

Over the summer my help was requested in creating an inventory spreadsheet of salable yarn. The list is 83 items long - that's 83 kinds of yarn to sell, not just 83 skeins/balls/hanks. Oy.

Now Teener is finally getting around to posting the yarn on eBay (the delay was partly due to camera snafus including a header into Oak Creek with the Nikon). The process is fairly simple since the spreadsheet lists all of the pertinent information...except the price.

As it's super quiet at the Cancer Center today, Teener has plenty of time to post. It's also pretty quiet here in The College, so we've been doing this in tag team fashion. Teener starts posting the descriptive information, then IMs me the details and asks for a price. I do the research and IM her back a retail price.

53 items have been posted so far (sellerID is buttawoo94)...a bunch more to go.

What up?

Welcome to My Best Friends Blog.

Ellen and I are two pals who live and work in West Philly.

We met 4+ years ago, thanks to Ellen's dog Jake.  We became fast friends---realizing we had many things in common...and even more to learn from each others differences.

This blog is a journal of our adventures...we like to be critical of fashion (especially UGG boots), eat good food, shop at TJMaxx/Marshalls, watch reality tv, read books, play scrabble, knit (Christina) and put stuff together from IKEA (Ellen).  We are both involved in community organizing and dog rescue.

Above all, we have some GOOD TIMES.

We invite you to share them with us...
